More students visit Aiwan
LAHORE: The students of Mumtaz Montessori High School Sandha Kalan on Tuesday visited the Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan to attend Aghi programme of Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT). They also visited the Pakistan Movement Gallery on the occasion.
Also, mobile ideological units led by their coordinators visited Ilm College Walton Road, Vocational Training Institute for Boys Walton, Government High School Tajpura, Milli Foundation High School Tajpura, CDG Girls High School Sultan Pura, Government Girls High School Factory Area Shahdara respectively.–Staff Reporter
Gymkhana elections on Dec 29
LAHORE: Eighteen candidates are contesting election for 12 seats of the Committee of Management of the Lahore Gymkhana for the year 2014.
The final list of candidates was released on Tuesday.
According to the list, the contestants are: Mian Misbahur Rehman, Mian Pervaiz Bhandara, Agha Ali Imam, Shafqat Rana, Pervaiz Bashir Agha, Zahid Nabi Malik, Khwaja Imran Zubair, Khalid Rafiq, Karamatullah Chaudhry, Ahsan Saeed Mian, Sarmad Nadeem, Ehsan Qadir, Muhammad Sharif Chaudhry, Qamar Khan (Bobby), Lt Col (retd) Muhammad Azam Khan, Syed Raza Shah, Musaddiq Hamid and Khwaja Sohail Iftikhar.

GCU seminar on human rights
LAHROE: The Government College University Lahore Ravians Law Society Tuesday held a one-day seminar in connection with the International Human Rights Day.
Punjab Secretary Law Syed Abdul Hassan Najmee and GCU Political Science Department Chairman Dr Khalid Manzoor Butt addressed the seminar which was attended by a large number of students and faculty members.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Law Najmee mentioned that Islam introduced the concept the rights to the human beings on equal grounds. The Constitution of Pakistan enlists human rights on the lines of Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which according to the speaker, are in line with the rights given by Islam. Najmee said that the human rights were ensured by the governments; but there were various areas where governments could reach without infringing the right to privacy of the citizens.–Staff Reporter

LAHORE: Hameed Nizami Press Institute of Pakistan is organising a seminar on ‘Problems of Homebased Women Workers and their Solution’ at HNPIP Auditorium near China Chowk today (Wednesday).
Minister for Labour Ashfaq Sarwar will preside over while Minister for Women Development Waheeda Hameeduddin and Mehnaz Rafi will be chief guests on occasion. LAHORE: PTI’s Secretary General, Jehangir Tareen on Tuesday said that his party wanted the election tribunals to complete their task within 120 days.
Talking to The Nation and Nawa-i-Waqt, Mr Tareen said that PTI had also demanded checking of thumb impressions in 40 constituencies country-wide besides the four in Lahore. “We have specifically challenged the election results in four constituencies of Lahore to establish the point that results were also manipulated in the entire Punjab besides Lahore”, he explained.–Staff Reporter
