PESHAWAR - Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Social Welfare, Dr Mehar Taj Roghani, Tuesday stressed the need for equipping special children with quality education so that they could positively contribute in the uplift of society and national development.
She expressed these views as a chief guest at a ceremony organised by Umeed Special Education School under the auspices of Peshawar Garrison Troops Welfare Community Complex in connection with International Day of People With Disability.
Begum Corps Commander Lieutenant General Khalid Rabbani also spoke on the occasion. She said that Umeed Special School is the ray of hope for those children who are neglected in society due to certain deficiencies.
To promote healthy activities and provide congenial environment to these special children this school has been established. It is an attempt by the Pak Army to bring special children back in the main stream. Special children also presented different tabloo which were greatly applauded by the audience.
In the end, prizes were distributed among special children by the Chief guest. A large number of guests, including parents, children and members of civil society attended the event.
