LAHORE - The Civil Society Network organised a seminar to pay tribute to the great legend and humanitarian Nelson Mandela.
The topic of the seminar was international human rights n women empowerment. World human rights day 2013 has special significance in this 20th anniversary year of the establishment of the mandates of the UN proclamation of human rights as the whole world celebrates this day.
The participants highlighted the services of the great legend for women rights, humanity, peace, inequality and tolerance. On the occasion, senior journalist and human rights activists Hussain Naqi said that the life of great Nelson Mandela is a role model for us we can also progress if we follow the Quaid e Azam principles. The human rights situation in Pakistan is very critical and peoples are living in bad conditions which is against the basic fundamental rights, he said
Prof Ejazul Hassan said women empowerment was difficult process in a capitalistic society. He paid tribute to the Nelson Mandela. Civil society network president Abdullah Malik said that nelson Mandela was a hope for the humanity and he served the humanity with dignity.
He was leader of those who believe in humanity. He was great believer of women empowerment. He says that education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Malik also said that human rights were violated in Pakistan and government failed to provide the basic needs for the common man
Former MPA Amna Ulfat, Pervaiz Rafique, Amna Malik, PTI MPA Shehnila Ruth, and Afzal Firdous also spoke on the occasion. The participants pay the rich tribute to Mandela. They gave a standing ovation to the legend and lit the candle to pay tribute.
