Another jewellery shop looted








LAHORE – Three armed dacoits barged their entry into a jewellery shop situated at the Main Bazaar in Raiwind City on Sunday, and fled away after collecting 200 tolas of gold ornaments and Rs1 million in cash in broad daylight.
The residents, goldsmiths and office-bearers of the local jewelers’ association, have fulminated at the tall claims by the top cops of the City Police with regard to the maintenance of law and order.
An eyewitness said that three armed robbers entered the Main Bazaar and snatched the weapon from a security guard standing outside a jewelry shop. “They opened aerial firing and two of them entered the shop and held hostage the entire staff on gunpoint, while their third accomplice stayed outside the shop,” he said.
The eyewitness added that residents and shopkeepers hid themselves in their shops; while the dacoits collected gold ornaments and cash, and managed to flee away from the crime scene. After the incident, the local traders staged a protest demonstration against the police. They chanted slogans against the law enforcement agency and demanded of the CCPO that the culprits be arrested. Police have booked three unidentified dacoits with no arrest until the filing of this report.
