LAHORE - On the directions of Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police Dr Wasim Kausar, N-5 Central launched Public Friendly Soft Policing Campaign on Sunday though out the zone on National Highways in order to maintain the true standards of efficiency and professionalism. The small packets of sweets and packs of biscuit imprinted with road safety slogans were distributed on all toll plazas among the commuters travelling on the road. The road safety stalls installed at prominent points on highways. During the Public Friendly Soft Policing Campaign Zonal Commander and SSPs including the IGP visited and monitored traffic discipline on highways. In the campaign Dr Wasim Kausar and DIG Syed Ibne Hussain visited the National Highways and inspected the different points. During the Campaign the IG himself briefed the road users on national highways & motorways and distributed the gift back to the children who were travelling. The IG advised the officers that they must receive the violators with smile and felicitation and execute his responsibilities as per law with politeness and respect. He further said that attention must be paid to facilitate the distress road users by providing timely help, basic traffic education and briefing all and sundry. He said the motorway police earned a good repute owing to friendly attitude of its official towards commuters.
