'Nurses symbol of hope

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Tariq Salah-ud-Din has said that profession of nursing and hospitality are compliment to each other and nurses are symbols of hope and life for patients. Addressing a function organised by Nursing School, Lahore General Hospital here on Wednesday, he said that the International Day of nursing gives the message to laud the services of Florence Nightingale but it also reminds of Hazrat Safia and other Sahabiat who looked after the martyrs of Islam and thus became pioneer of this noble profession. The participants were also addressed by LGH MS Dr Zafar Ikram, Nursing School Principal Ishrat Ishaque and a student Zenif Aslam. Nurses render their services keeping themselves above from all kinds of discrimination. Dr Tariq advised the nurses to take care of patients in such a manner that every girl feels proud to be a nurse. He informed that recommendation for up-gradation of Nursing School has been sent to government and there will be classes of BSc Nursing at this school very soon. Dr Zafar Ikram and Principal Ishrat Ishaque also spoke on the occasion.
