LAHORE - The seven-year-old baby girl, Aleena, and her younger brother Annan, who were found dead under mysterious circumstances from Shahdra Town area about 10 days ago, were in fact 'murdered in cold blood. The innocent kids were recovered dead from an iron box from the rooftop of their house in Shahdra Town police area. The autopsy report further revealed the killers also attempted to rape the minor girl before killing her and her brother. Police sources said the killer(s) crammed the dead bodies in the 21-inch long iron box, as the kids were healthy and considerable tall. The killer (s) did this in an attempt to misguide the police. Apparently, to cover up the killings they tried to create an impression the children died accidentally, a police officer said. The police investigators began investigations to nab the unidentified killers after the autopsy report disclosed the innocent babies were strangled to death. The police on Thursday registered the case as double-murder against unidentified killers on the complaint of Muhammad Ayyub, father of the kids. The investigators have also collected DNA samples from the body cells of the kids to match with the suspects that would help identify the killers, a sources close to the investigators revealed. The police will investigate the double-murder case by applying both the conventional and unconventional methods to trace out the desperate killer (s), a senior police officer said, when contacted. We have also prepared a list of the suspected persons from the nearby residents and we will interrogate them, the officer added. The kids were residing along with their father Muhammad Ayyub in a one-room rented house situated in Bhutto Colony in Shahdra Town. The man had divorced his wife after she suffered paralysis attack that damaged her body years ago. Ayyub, a mason by profession, was paying Rs 2,000 per month rent for his apartment, situated at the first floor of the two-storey building. He used to leave his house early in the morning to work in nearby areas and the house-owner, Sakhawat Ali, was supposed to take care of his children in his absence. The ill-fated father also used to give Rs 20 to the house owner everyday so that he could fetch some edibles for the kids. This was like an open secret for all the nearby residents that the kids lived alone in their house throughout the day. There is a strong possibility the killer (s) is living in the same locality, police investigators believed. The father of the kids took the dead bodies to Nankana Sahib, his native town, where funeral prayer was offered. The police were waiting for the autopsy report. As they got the report, which established the kids were murdered, they registered the case against unidentified killer(s). Further investigations are underway.
