Named by LEGAL 500, as having won the top award in the US legal field in the Finance category of “Asset Finance and Leasing”, Pakistan’s Zarrar Sehgal has been declared as the Lawyer of the Year for Team of the Year 2014.
Earlier, Zarrar had been nominated by the US Chambers Law Directory as among the top 10 individual lawyers in “Asset Finance” in Band 1 Category. Clifford Chance USA, the law firm, in which he is the Head of Logistics and co-head of Asset Finance, was also named as the top law firm in the US in Band 1.
Zarrar had, in 2013, set a record for being the first person under the age of 40 and the first Pakistani to achieve the distinction of being in the US top 10 lawyers in the Asset Finance in Band 1 conferred on him by both Legal 500 and US Chambers.
Both Legal 500 and US Chambers Law Directories are recognised as the world’s most prestigious legal guides, recommending firms and individuals purely on merit. Obtaining his school education from Karachi Grammar School, Zarrar graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Boston University, topping in both Economics and Political Science.
Married with three children, he is presently living in New York. Zarrar was selected as a Young Global Leader (YGL) in the prestigious World Economic Forum (WEF) in 2010.–Press Release
