Plea filed in SC to bring back Haqqani

LAHORE - An application has been moved in the Supreme Court for bringing Pakistan’s former Ambassador to the United States and major suspect in memogate scandal Hussain Haqqani back to the country.
On Thursday, Barrister Zafarullah Khan of Watan Party filed the petition stating that the scandal had tarnished the image of the country in world as baseless allegations were levelled against the Pak Army.  He said Haqqani had got permission to go abroad from Supreme Court by submitting an affidavit but he had not returned for the last two years.
The petitioner also asked the court to declare Haqqani as court absconder and direct the authorities to bring him back with the help of Interpol. He filed the petition at Lahore registry of the SC.
