LAHORE - The PPPs Punjab Secretary Finance, Aurangzeb Burki has said that government is struggling hard to overcome energy crisis within shortest possible time, while political opponents are busy in mud-slinging campaign against it just for the sake of political point scoring. Talking to a representative delegation of local party leaders from NA-121 (Lahore) in his office here on Wednesday, Burki said that PPP government would resolve all energy related issues before completion of its constitutional term, and this was something very disturbing for the opponents. He said people had got some relief as a result of governments strategy to save electricity, while efforts were underway to address the problem on permanent basis. The PPP leader said that government had already resolved some complicated issues like 18th amendment and NFC award by evolving consensus of all political parties, and would continue the same approach in respect of other matters. Burki stated that PPP was following a policy of national reconciliation in the best national interest, but some vested interests were trying to mislead the people through character assassination of President Asif Ali Zardari, who, he said, had become a symbol of federation by raising the slogan of Pakistan Khappay (Pakistan should live) after murder of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
