Shahbaz for promoting religious harmony

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif underscored the need for promoting religious harmony, brotherhood and peace on occasion of occasion of Muharramul Haram.
He presided over a meeting to review the security measures for Muharramul Haram, here on Tuesday. Provincial Ministers, Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police, Home Secretary and senior officers concerned attended the meeting.
The CM directed the authorities concerned to take out-out measure to ensure security of the people as nothing is more precious more than the human life. He asked the cabinet committee to hold meetings on daily basis and seek report about implementation of the security arrangements during Muharram. He said the elected representatives should play an active role for maintaining religious harmony and law and order in their respective areas. He said that a watchful eye must be kept on suspects and additional force deputed at important places.
Shahbaz said that senior police officials should personally undertake patrolling in their respective areas instead of sitting in their offices. He said that instructions regarding formation of a four-tier security cordon around Muharram-related majalis and processions should be implemented, while proper lighting arrangements should also be made.
 Issuing instructions for implementation on the foolproof security plan, he said that all MNAs and MPAs should play an active role for security arrangements.
The Inspector General Police and Secretary Home gave detailed briefings regarding the security arrangements and law and order. They informed that a comprehensive security plan is being implemented in the province.
