LAHORE - Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Chaudhry Shafique on Thursday came down hard on the Lahore police and warned the officials that those failed to downgrade the crimes rate in their respective area would be locked-up in the same police station.
The Lahore police chief took to task several station house officers as they converged in the Police Headquarters to discuss crime fighting strategies besides reviewing the overall law and order situation in the city.
The police chief warned that if the station house officer did not improve their performance within 15 days, he would not hesitate to suspend or remove them from service.
While chairing a joint meeting of the CIA, and Operation and Investigation wings of the Lahore Police at the Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh on Thursday, the CCPO reviewed the crimes rate and working of the police in detail.
DIG (Operations) Muhammad Tahir Rai, DIG (Investigation) Zulfiqar Hameed, SSP (Investigation) Abdul Rab, SSP (Admin) Rana Shahzad Akbar, SP (Security) Abdul Ghaffar Qaisrani, SSP Sohail Sukhera, SP CIA Muhammad Omar Virk, CTO Sohail Chaudhry and all the divisional SPs, DSPs, and SHOs were also present on this occasion.
Chaudhry Shafique Ahmad strongly reprimanded DSPs, SHOs and in-charge investigation wing and said that the police officers and officials involved in using delaying tactics in the registration of cases, misbehavior with citizens, and those failed to provide justice to the citizens have no right to stay on their positions.
On this occasion, the CCPO suspended from service SHO Nawankot police station, Atif Zulfiqar for delaying registration of crimes cases and failure to control crimes. An explanation has also been sought from the SP City for delay in the registration of cases.
