Pakistan frees 89 Indian fishermen

Pakistan on Thursday released 89 Indian fishermen imprisoned for violating its territorial waters. Pakistan released those men as a goodwill gesture in the peace building process with India. The Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum and a non-government organisation, headed by Justice (r) Nasir Aslam Zahid, was making efforts for the release of arrested fishermen. The fishermen were given traditional Sindhi ajraks and other gifts before being set off for Lahore in two buses, where they would cross the Pakistan-India border on Friday.
