LAHORE - A ceremony was held at the Central Park Medical College to administer oath to first-year MBBS students on Sunday in which students were urged to be responsible doctors in future. Renowned physician and ex-principal of KEMC Prof Dr Khawaja Sadiq Hussain was the chief guest and Pakistan Medical and Dental Council President Prof Dr Sibt-ul-Hasnain was the guest of honour. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sibtul Hasnain said Pakistan was facing an acute shortage of doctors and steps must be taken to train new doctors. He urged women doctors to continue practice after marriage. CPMC Dean Prof AS Chughtai said well-being of patients was the top priority of the doctors and they must not be negligent during their performance. Dr AT Naqvi briefed participants on the colleges performance. Later, Dr Sadiq administered oath to students. Former chief secretary Javed Qureshi, Dr Asif Naqvi and the associate director of the Hull York Medical University, UK, also spoke on the occasion.
