LAHORE - Pakistan Sunni Tehrik (PST) has demanded blood money from Taliban for killing 50,000 people across the country.
Addressing lawyers and Ulema boards of central shura of PST on Thursday, party chief Sarwat Ijaz Qadri said Taliban were demanding release of their prisoners which was against the Sharia.
“Sharia should be enforced on them who are demanding its enforcement,” he said and added that Sharia did not let anyone to forgive the killers except victim families. And, he said, the family members of the victims wanted compensation for the killings of their loved ones. He said the government should demand blood money from the Taliban. He said the terrorism could not be stopped till enforcement of Sharia law in the country.
Qadri said terrorism and talks could not be advanced simultaneously. He said Pakistan army had already announced a ceasefire but the Tabliban were continuing terrorist activities. He said the Taliban should not be given ‘licence to kill’ in the name of peace talks.
