Lyari peace committee member shot dead

KARACHI - Two people were killed in different incidents of violence in the wee hours of Sunday. As per details, a member of Lyari Peace Committee (LPC) was gunned down while his body was recovered from Mawach Goth police check post in the limits of Maripur police station. Police said the victim Abdul Latif Baloch was the member of LPC and the resident of Noor Muhammad Muhallah. The incident occurred when some unidentified suspects, after kidnapping and torturing, penetrated several bullets in his body and threw him at an abandoned place. The body was moved to Civil Hospital Karachi for legal formalities. In another incident, a dismissed cop, Imran, 32, was gunned down when unidentified suspects penetrated multiple bullets in his body at North Karachi police sector 11-C in the limits of Sir Syed police station. Police said the incident occurred in the parking of Amma Shopping Plaza where a police cop Khalid was deployed to maintain law and order. They said the dismissed cop Imran also reached there for some personal reason and meet his friend Khalid. They said when they were talking with each other, they looked some four unidentified suspects riding on two motorcycles. When the police cops tried to search them, the suspects opened indiscriminate fire on them and managed to flee from the scene. Resultantly, Imran received four bullet injuries in his chest and head and died at the spot. The victim was the cop of Gulshan Iqbal police station and was dismissed by the police high-ups over unknown reason. The deceased was the resident of North Karachi Sector 7-D. The body was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.
