OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - Air Marshal (r) Khalid Chaudhry assumed the charge as Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan, CAA spokesman said. He said that Air Marshal Khalid earned his win from the Pakistan Air Force Academy, Risalpur in April, 1974, adding that his aviation career includes more than 3,500 flying hours, primarily on fighter assignments on the F-86, F-6, F-7 and F-16 aircraft. The spokesman further said that commanded an F-16 Squadron, a fighter Flying Wing, Combat Commanders Chool, PAF Base Mushaf and the Central Air Command of PAF. His staff and other assignments include tenure as Deputy Director (Ops) at air headquarters, Project Director F-16 Programme, Inspector General Air Force, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (E&L), Deputy chief of the Air Staff (Support) and deputy Chief of the Air staff (Operations), he added. He also served as chairman of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Board, the spokesman said and added that he was an alumni of Air War College and the Royal College of Defense Studies, UK. For his meritorious services the Government of Pakistan conferred on the Air Marshal the Hilal-i-Imtiaz and Tamgha-e-Basalat.
