Dealer shot dead over property dispute

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Some six accused allegedly shot dead a 40-year-old man over property dispute at Baachian village of Raiwind City police area on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Naik Muhammad. According to the accounts of neighbours, Naik had occupied a 12-marla plot in the same area whereas the accused party led by Qadeem alias Kadu and his brother Wasim also wanted to occupy the same plot. The members of the both parties had quarrels numerous times before this. On Sunday, Kadu along with five persons arrived on the plot and exchanged harsh words with Naik, said a senior officer, adding during this course of time, the accused opened indiscriminate fires on other party, leaving eight persons in pool of blood. Naik Muhammad, however, was rushed to the Emergency Department of the Jinnah Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. The condition of the others seven inured was told stable till filing of this report. Later, the body was removed to the City morgue for his post-mortem. Police concerned have launched investigation with no arrest so far.
