OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A petition has been moved in the Lahore High Court to seek enforcement of the Constitutional provision against the police torture on the accused in custody as well as for mandatory information to the legal heirs of the accused about his custody and the offence facing him. The petition has been filed by one Abdul Wahid through advocate A.K.Dogar inter ala contending article 10 (1) of the Constitution is being grossly violated and misused by the police in respect of the custody an person who is compelled by the police under duress and torture to accept what he has not committed so that the police could show progress. The petitioner contends that complaints of fake encounters, killings in custody and brutal torture against the police are rampant and by practicing that acts police are terrorizing the people and forcing them to accept what they did not commit.
