Youth guarantees bright future: CM


LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday the dream of rapid progress and prosperity of the country could only be achieved by imparting modern knowledge and providing latest technology to the youth.
Talking to a delegation of brilliant students who called on him at Murree, the chief minister said to achieve this target, the Punjab government was following a comprehensive programme of promotion of information technology in the province.
Shahbaz said no amount of resources spent on the builders of the future, their education and training could be termed sufficient. He called on the youth to eliminate the rotten system of corruption, loot, plunder and kickbacks. “Help build a Pakistan where there is predominance of honesty, merit and trust; and where no corrupt person could ever think of plundering the national resources,” he added.
The Punjab chief minister further said the youth was the guarantee of Pakistan’s bright future. “The world over, only those nations have achieved progress and prosperity that have equipped their youth with modern knowledge and spent adequate resources on them,” he remarked.
He said information technology was an accepted reality in the modern world, which has now been transformed into a global village. The students’ delegation paid glowing tributes to the chief minister for taking unprecedented steps for the betterment of education sector.
