2 murdered in Lahore

LAHORE - Two people were shot dead by their opponents in different parts of the provincial metropolis, police said on Monday.
Resident of Amin Park, Zahid Saleem, was shot dead by his neighbour at his house over a monetary dispute. The alleged killer, identified as Tipu Sultan, said to an official of the city district government, has been arrested.
Police said that Tipu forced his entry into the house of Zahid and opened straight fire on him. As a result, Zahid and his wife, Asma Bibi, sustained multiple bullet wounds. They were rushed to a hospital, where Zahid was pronounced as brought dead. The condition of the woman was said to be critical till Monday night. Investigators said that the killer was arrested while the police also recovered a pistol from his possession. A case has been registered against the killer and the police are investigating.
In another incident, a 40-year-old man was shot dead by his opponents at Multan Road in Sabazazar police limits on Monday.
Muhammad Pervaiz riding on a motorcycle was going to appear before a court in connection with a case when his opponents intercepted him near Multan Chungi. One of the gunmen, identified as Yawar along with his accomplices opened fire on Pervaiz and fled after ensuring his on-the-spot death. The investigators said that the deceased had a property dispute with the killers. The body was moved to the morgue for autopsy. Police have registered a murder case and are investigating with no arrest made so far.
