LAHORE - A judicial magistrate on Monday extended physical remand of Gullu Butt, who is accused of damaging cars and vehicles during a clash between police and Idara Minhajul Quran workers on June 17, for five days
The police produced Gullu Butt before the judge and requested to extend his physical remand as they have to recover a pistol he had used for aerial filing. Upon which, the judge accepted the plea and extended Butt’s physical remand. In the same case, an anti-terrorism court sent five cops into police custody for their alleged involvement in the killing of PAT workers during the Model Town tragedy. The Faisal Town Police produced Sabzazar SHO Sheikh Amir Saleem, Elite Force Inspector Hafiz Athar, three constables Naveed, Kashif and Khurram before the court amid tight security. –Staff Reporter
The investigating officer told presiding judge Rai Ayub Marth the weapons used by the cops on the day had been recovered. He said the cops are required to be kept in custody for further investigation. The judge accepted the plea and granted 5-day physical remand of the cops with direction to complete investigation by next hearing.
