Lahore: Nurses' protest enters sixth day as both sides of Mall Road remain blocked

LAHORE- Nurses continue to protest outside Punjab Assembly for sixth consecutive day in Lahore while the nursing staff of public hospitals of Punjab and Balochistan are holding a sit-in against police torture.
According to the latest reports, the police have placed barriers on both sides of Mall Road while nurses are chanting slogans against the Punjab government for not fulfilling their demands and police violence against them. The protesters have demanded the government to regularize ad-hoc nurses.
Earlier, the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif formed a cabinet committee under the supervision of Rana Sanaullah to fulfill the justified demands of nurses. The committee is directed to present the report within three days. Earlier on Friday, Punjab police baton-charged protesting nurses outside Punjab Assembly.
Following the violent attacks by police, nurses of Mayo Hospital, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Allied Hospital and Civil Hospital of Faisalabad suspended services in all sections including emergency as protest.
