LAHORE - Lawyers’ Foundation on Friday served a notice on Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif for failing to stop Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek from holding their long marches which had been declared by the Lahore High Court’s full bench unlawful.
The Foundation, through a legal notice, said the LHC had categorically declared PTI and PAT marches unconstitutional and it was the duty of the executive head to enforce the court orders in letter and spirit. It stated that the PM had miserably failed to discharge his constitutional obligation that resulted in the long marches which would play havoc with the country’s economy. The PM should also initiate legal action to ban both the parties for defying the LHC orders. “If the PM fails to implement the LHC orders with immediate effect, the Lawyers’ Foundation will initiate a legal action against him,” the notice said.
