LAHORE - A full bench of the Lahore High Court on Friday adjourned the hearing of a petition seeking return of foreign assets owned by Pakistani politicians. The politicians whose foreign assets are under question include PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif, PML-N MNA Ahsan Iqbal, former Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, his son Moonis Elahi and others. The bench postponed the hearing till May 10, as petitioner Barrister Javed Iqbal Jaffery sought time to prepare his arguments. The petitioner also demanded the registration of FIRs against former President Pervez Musharraf and ex-Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz for looting the national fisc. Making party to various famous lawyers and jurists including Dr Babar Awan, Malik Muhammad Qayum, Abdul Hameed Dogar, Sardar Latif Khan Khosa, Wasim Sajjad and Sharifud Din Pirzada, the petitioner accused them of obtaining huge fees on the pretext of influencing judges. The petitioner said that they all should be fully taxed and penalties be imposed on them for tax evasions. Jaffrey requested the court to direct the Federal Board of Revenue and all anti-corruption departments to employ 'Lie Detection Machines on all the respondents as they always tell lies to nation even under oath on the Quran.
