Lahorites donate generously at Army Camps

LAHORE Realising the growing sufferings of the affected people with every passing moment, the Lahorites gave tremendous response to the donation appeal by the Pakistan Army for the help of millions of people displaced by the devastating floods and donated generously at Army Camp on Independence Day. With the accelerated pace of relief collection, Army central flood relief camp at Fortress Stadium dispatched as many as 18 trucks of relief goods including tents, edibles, dry ration, bottled mineral water and life saving drugs for the flood affectees of Layyah, Kot Addu, DG Khan and Rajanpur on Monday. A total of 780 tonne items valuing Rs 64 million, have been sent to the affected areas from the army relief camp within a week. It is in addition to Rs 3.4 million cash donations. Lahore Corps have set up relief camp at 26 places in the City and cantonment area for collecting and smooth delivery of relief goods to the distressed people sitting under the open sky.
