Zardari arrives in Lahore for Nawaz meeting

President Asif Ali Zardari has arrived in Lahore to meet Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader Mian Nawaz Sharif on Friday. Governor of Punjab Salman Taseer and Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif received President Zardari at the old airport of Lahore. The President would arrive at Raiwind in a helicopter for crucial meeting with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. President Zardari will be assisted by federal ministers Raja Pervez Ashraf, Babar Awan, Raja Riaz Ahmed and Farhatullah Babar, while Shahbaz Sharif, Mahtab Abbasi, Syed Ghous Ali Shah, Saad Rafique and Zulfiqar Khosa will assist the PML-N leader. PML-N sources said that there was no formal agenda, however, matters related to constitutional amendments would be discussed in the meeting. PML-N leader Pervaiz Rashid said that some incomplete tasks including revocation of 17th Amendment would be discussed in the meeting. He said that the meeting would move forward reconciliation process between PML-N and PPP, adding there has been contact between the two parties.
