Dual office case: LHC reissues notice to President Zardari

Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday has re-issued notices to President Asif Ali Zardari during the hearing of a case against President's dual offices has ordered that the notice should be implemented via the president's principal secretary. On Monday a five-member bench headed by Justice Ijaz Ahmed CH heard the case against President's dual offices. During the hearing Deputy Attorney General Tanvir Hashmi told the court that President Zardari was not issued notice in this case. In the petition President Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto, PM Gilani and Speaker National Assembly are made a party, and added that the notice were issued to the federation. Expressing displeasure over this, Justice Umar Ata Bandial addressed the DAG 'representing the federation you must know that president is the symbol of federation'. But the deputy Attorney General insisted that President Zardari has been made a byline party therefore notice should be issued to him. One of the member Judge Justice Iftikhar Hassan Ch remarked that we have served notices and we cannot go to someone's house and served them. On the insistence of Deputy Attorney General the court reissued notice to President Zardari and ordered that these notices should be sent through courier or a messenger to the president principal secretary. After this the court adjourned the case hearing till May 27.
