Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench on Friday revoked Election Commission’s decision regarding recounting of votes in NA-57 constituency of Attock.
PML-N’s winning candidate Sheikh Aftab had contacted Lahore High Court after ECP issued order of vote recount in NA-57 over application submitted by Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) candidate Malik Amin Aslam.
During case proceeding, counsel for PML-N candidate Advocate Sheikh Ahsan Uddin told court that Election Commission issued directives without listening to his client’s version, which is illegal.
On this, the court ordered that recounting could not be held until ECP listens to both respondents in the case.
