LAHORE - In the November 2008 edition of Warid Gymkhana Golf League Tournament contested at the par 72 Lahore Gymkhana Golf Course, quite a few of the participating amateurs played impressively enough to produce quality scores and turn the competition into a real test of nerves. With the course playing well, the talented ones responded and although Shafiq Bhatti emerged victorious with a gross score of 3 over par 75,the others foll0wing him ended up close. Aadil Jehangir who can hit the ball frightfully long,on the par 4's and par 5's ended up second with a card of 76. Winner of the professional section was Muhammed Akram(WAPDA),with M.Javed second and Akhter Ali third.As for the senior professionals the best one was Bashir Ahmed,second being Shoukat Ali and Manzoor Ahmed third Other events at stake were the Warid Invitational, net and gross in handicap category 7-12 and 13-18.Winner of Warid Invitational gross was  Faisal Ijaz Khan and winners of net event were Rai Azizullah Khan and Asad Niaz.Top one in  amateur gross in handicap category 7-12 was Zia Hyder followed by Muhammed Ayub Qureshi and Mian Tariq. Performers in net section of handicap category 13 to 18 were Mian Sheryar ,Mian Saeed,Dr.Khurrum ,A.Bhatti and Amir Ali. The prize distribution of this event was held in the evening and the chief guest Najibullah Malik ,convenor golf ,Lahore Gymkhana awarded prizes to the winners in a ceremony attended by Faisal Ijaz, CEO Warid, Lt. Gen.Tariq ,senior members and participating golfers .
