25 couples tie the knot at mass wedding

LAHORE The Women Social Serving Organization on Sunday arranged a mass wedding ceremony at a local marriage hall. As many as 25 couples hailing from different districts tied the knot on the occasion. The central PML-N leader and senator, Ishaq Dar, bore all the mass marriage expenses. In total, dowries worth Rs 900,000 were gifted to the brides. On the occasion, Mujtaba Hussain Dar, son of Ishaq Dar was the chief guest, while the ceremony was hosted by WSSO President Begum Shameem Aftab and Justice (r) Aftab Farrukh. The WSSO has been arranging mass wedding since 2005 and every year 25 couples are selected on merit according to the earning. Besides, this the organization also works in areas of women concern including education, health and empowerment of women. The organization was founded by worker of Pakistan Movement late Begum Farukh Hussain for the betterment of men, women and children in 1956.
