Police declared the state of red alert in anticipation of possible terror attack in Lahore and adjoining areas in response to intelligence agencies' report, local TV channel reported Friday. The police kicked off a high-level search operation in Lahore late Thursday night, which continued till Friday morning. According to sources, police and other law enforcement agencies received reports, which feared a likely terrorist strike in Lahore on Friday, sparking fear among Lahoreites. Heavy police contingents, comprising over 2000 personnel, carried out search operation in Manga Mandi, Township and other areas of the city, featuring door-to-door search operations and collection of residents' information, the report said. Policemen also conducted investigation from various aspects but no arrest was made. Two groups of militants attacked two worship places almost simultaneously in Lahore on May 28, also Friday, leaving about 90 people dead and more than 100 injured.
