Jimmy donates paintings exhibition proceeds to charity

LAHORE (APP) - Prominent artist and social worker Jimmy Engineer said proceeds from the sale of prints of his selected major art work being exhibited in Lahore next month will go to charity. Making this announcement in a statement on Sunday, he said the charity will help special children, widows, the poor and other needy people. On display in the exhibition at the Revivers Galleria in Gulberg would be limited addition canvass prints of selected major art of his entire professional career so far, he added. Jimmy said that these prints would be numbered and carry his signatures at the back and as such would not be sold during the period exhibition remains in progress. Meanwhile, Ms Sara Anjum, Curator of Revivers Galleria told APP the prints of renowned artist Jimmys selected art work including recently completed Architectural Compositions and famous Pakistan Movement series of paintings have already reached here from Karachi and necessary arrangements are underway for making their proper display. She said date for the exhibition had almost been finalized and was going to be announced in next few days. Modern Liver Disease Management Centre at Jinnah Hospital A state of the art Liver Disease Management Centre comprising 1250-bed is being established in Jinnah Hospital to provide specialised medical treatment to the masses. About the future development and upgradation plan, Medical Superintendent Jinnah Hospital Dr Muhammad Hasan informed APP here Sunday on the special directive of the Chief Minister Punjab. The MS Jinnah Hospital said that work on laproscopic surgery centre, upgradation of pathology lab, cardiovascular ward, extension of 10-bed ICU, modernization of operation theatres and management information system and automation of Allama Iqbal Medical College and its attached hospital in collaboration with the Punjab IT department is in full swing. The MS said that the facility of 100 percent free lab tests and medicine for all indoor patients is available. He said nearly 3000 patient visit outdoor daily and around 1200-1500 patients are being provided complete free of cost treatment at emergency ward while 40-50 deliveries are conducted daily. Dr Hasan said 36 patients daily get dialysis while 265 are still on waiting list. He said Jinnah Hospital is the only public sector hospital in city where the PCR test facility is available and 50 patients are benefiting from this modern facility. He said that at least 20-25 MRI tests and 50 CT Scan are being conducted round the clock daily. He said Cardiology Department is fully catering the needs of heart patients and at least 5 angiography and 15 echocardiography tests are being performed. The MS said overall performance of Cardiography Department under supervision of Prof Dr Tayyab Pasha has been excellent and its success rate is even better than all other hospitals. Dr Hasan claimed Jinnah Hospital with the co-operation of chairman board of governors and Principal Prof Javed Akram, has been made 100 percent corruption free and if any complaint in this regard, the concerned person can see him directly during office hours and if charges proved, he or she will never be spared at any cost.
