LAHORE - The Lahore High Court on Wednesday ordered the University of Health Sciences vice chancellor to issue within two weeks the examination schedule for MBBS students of a private medical college.
As the hearing started on Wednesday, Vice Chancellor Muhammad Aslam appeared before the court following its notices. He assured the court that the students would be allowed to sit in the examination as per the procedure of the varsity.
At this, Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan remarked that the students could not be restrained from sitting in the examination under any law. He went to say that the court would care about the future of these students.
The court recorded the statement of the vice chancellor and ordered him to issue within two weeks the examination schedule for these MBBS students. The petitioner students through their counsel had submitted that their college was affiliated with the UHS, but despite that the university administration was not issuing the examination schedule for them.
The lawyer argued that the educational career of these students would disturb if the schedule is not issued. They requested the court to issue directions to the UHS administration to release schedule for the students of their medical college.
NOTICE: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday issued notices to the Punjab Government and City District Government on a petition against a ban on holding marriage ceremonies after 10pm.
Justice Shahzada Mazhar passed these orders on the petition moved by a local citizen Rizwan Gill.
