LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that people of all the four provinces are bound together inextricably and their joys and sorrows are common. He said that Sindh is the land of Sufi saints and peace and is fragrant with love and brotherhood. He was talking to a 10-member delegation of senior journalists and intellectuals from Sindh who are on a visit to Punjab, here on Sunday. Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Secretary Information Shoaib Bin Aziz and Director General Public Relations Dr. Muhammad Aslam Dogar were also present on the occasion. The CM said that the visit of Sindhi journalists to Punjab will promote national solidarity and enable them gain first-hand knowledge about the development activities being undertaken in the province. He said that Punjab government was paying special attention to the development of health, education and vocational education sector and substantial funds have been allocated for this purpose. He said that the students obtaining top positions in different examinations had been sent on a study tour of Europe recently and talented students of Sindh and other provinces were also among these students. Shahbaz said that the study tour abroad will not only encourage these students but also promote self-confidence in them and infuse a spirit to serve their country. He said that Danish schools were being set up in the province and in the first phase, three schools will be completed in October this year while work on four more schools will be started during current year. He said that standard of these schools will be comparable with the premier educational institutions of the country. He said that state land was being distributed among agri-graduates first time in the history of the country which will not only provide job opportunities to agri and veterinary graduates but will also result in promotion of modern technology for increasing agri production. He said that government had started Sasti Roti Scheme for the poor and destitute person and now the scope of this programme is being extended and a network of Sasti Roti Dasterkhawns was being laid throughout the province. He said that arrangements for Sehr and Iftar will be made with the cooperation of philanthropists during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. The members of the visiting delegation while expressing their views said that they had brought a message of peace from Sindh and they will always cherish the memories of love and hospitality shown to them in Punjab. They said that at the invitation of Chief Minister Punjab, they had the honour of visiting historical places of Lahore. The leader of the delegation presented a Sindhi cap and Ajrak to Chief Minister Punjab as a gift.
