LAHORE Provincial Minister for Finance, Planning and Development Tanvir Ashraf Kaira has said that Punjab government would allocate more funds for the welfare of people of Punjab in the upcoming fiscal budget. He said Punjab would also get substantial resources from federation under new NFC Award, which would be spent on public welfare schemes. Talking to the mediamen after prize-distribution ceremony of Comsats Institute of information technology Riawind, the minister said government would allocate more funds for energy sector in order to overcome power crisis in the province. He said the construction of Bhasha Dam would take place this year and for this purpose federal government is going to allocate funds in the coming budget. He said energy crisis is a national issue and all political forces have consensus to deal with this problems on priority basis. Kaira said that PPP and PML-N are enjoying good relations and it is the need of hour that both parties continue to work together for solving problems of the masses. Earlier addressing the prize-distribution ceremony of Comsats Institute, the minister said that some people claim that there is no benefit in games and sports at all especially for students. But in fact, sports and games have many benefits as it releases pressure and teach us skills of surviving in this tough life. He said we must all work for national integrity and mutual prosperity, we must not only think in terms of our individual achievements but we must also focus on the political, socio-economical, regional and International issues as well. The minister vowed to resolve the issue of land for permanent campus of COMSATS at Lahore.
