4 including inmate killed in City


LAHORE – Four people including an 80-year-old inmate died in the provincial capital on Friday.
According to the details, 45-year Khaleel Masih was gunned down by Muhammad Javed and his accomplices at Sher Shah Colony in Chung. The motive behind this killing reportedly was Khaleel’s refusal to marry her daughter with Javed.
Police sources said that wife and daughter of Khaleel were factory workers. “Javed also worked there and developed relations with Khaleel’s daughter and formally asked the deceased to marry her daughter with him,” said police sources, adding that on his refusal the culprits started intimidating the victim and on Friday the accused Javed along with his accomplices intercepted Khaleel and sprayed several bullets on him.
As a result, Khaleel sustained multiple injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced him as dead. A case has been registered against the culprits on the statement of Wasim Masih, son of the deceased. Further investigations are under way.
Similarly, an old inmate Bakhto Masih of Baanth village died at Camp Jail, Shadman police said. According to the details, the deceased was suffering a fatal disease for the last several days and died on Friday.
Meanwhile, a 37-year-old alleged drug addict was found dead from Bilal Ganj Chowk, Data Darbar area. Police said the deceased was a drug addict and the main cause of his death was excessive usage of drugs. Policemen, however, are awaiting an autopsy to ascertain the main cause of his death.
In a similar case, Sabzazaar police found a body of an unidentified person on Friday. The body was recovered by the rescue officials from a drain.
