Pervaiz Elahi lashes out at Shahbaz

LAHORE - Dengue may not have created such havoc if the provincial chief minister had not destroyed the local government system, said Ch Pervaiz Elahi, former Punjab chief minister and senior federal minister. He expressed these views while talking to former nazimeen, naib nazimeen and party ticket-holders from Lahore at the State Guest House on Sunday. Elahi claimed had the LG System been in place today there would have been hundreds of elected public representatives to combat the killer mosquito instead of merely one DCO. Chaudhary Pervaiz, who is also president of the Punjab PML-Q, further claimed that he as the chief minister had always relied on Local Government for understanding public issues and finding their solutions. He maintained that PML-Q had always remained fully aware of the public problems. He claimed that his partys focus had always been on their quick and effective resolution. He also claimed that his partys Utility Stores Ramadan Relief Package was highly lauded by the common man, whereas Shahbaz governments Ramadan bazaars had failed miserably. PML-Q senior leader while blaming the PML-N for destroying the institutions maintained that doctors, teachers and people from all walks of life had been forced to come out in protest time and again against Shahbaz Sharifs government. He claimed that not a single new bed had been added to public hospitals in Punjab since 2008. Chaudhary Pervaiz lauded the PML-Q nazims and naib nazims for staying loyal with their party despite temptations and trials. PML-Q leaders present on this occasion included Muhammad Basharat Raja, Arshad Khan Lodhi, Mian Munir, Mian, Yousuf Ahad, Idrees Hanif, Haji Imdad Hussain, Naveed Ashiq Dayal, Akram Chaudhary, Nasir Gill and others.
