LAHORE – The Government College University arranged a ceremony on Wednesday in connection with Christmas celebrations at the Abdus Salam Hall, bringing colour to the college.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleequr Rahman was the chief guest of the event that was attended by faculty members, students and staff from minority community.
Cutting the Christmas cake, the VC announced one-day additional salary for the Christians. He reminded the GCU staff of Quaid-e-Azam’s message that all Pakistanis are equal irrespective of religion or caste. He called on the teachers to spread the message of love, peace and unity among their students. Similar functions were held across the city. The PU Christian staff will organise such a ceremony on Thursday (today) in the Center for Undergraduate Studies. PU Vice-Chancellor Dr mujahid Kamran will preside over the ceremony while Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, Kamran Michael and Anwar Fazal Pastor will be the guest of honour.
