Police to ‘take down’ teasers

LAHORE - Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khan Baig has directed police to take strict action against the strangers found involved in eve-teasing around girls’ schools and colleges, a police spokesperson said on Wednesday.
The provincial police chief has directed field officers to intensify patrolling around women’s educational institutions particularly in the morning and afternoon when the classes ends.
Officials said that police chief directed the clampdown on eve-teasers mostly youth following massive complaints by parents and administration of various educational institutions that schoolgirls are frequently harassed by men wondering around colleges and universities at home time.  Field officers are directed to keep close liaison with administration of schools and colleges to punish eve-teasers.
It was also learnt that plainclothesmen would also be deployed around female educational institution to keep a check on the eve-teasers.
