LAHORE National Bank of Pakistan survived a scare after Wapda nearly turned tables on the bankers as the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match ended in a draw here at the Gaddafi Stadium on the fourth and final day on Monday. Wapda made 133 in the first innings and NBP replied with 321 and when the bankers were in sight of win Wapda responded with 413 with the help of 208 runs fifth wicket partnership between Aamir (13) and Bilal (161) and later their bowlers tightened the noose on Bankers batting lineup to reduce them at 157 for seven when Naumanullah scored unbeaten 52 ensuring a draw for NBP. Sarfraz Ahmed and Rana Naveed did the main damage by taking three wickets each. ZTBL romp to win over Lahore Shalimar Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited defeated Lahore Shalimar by 97 runs in the second round Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match here at the LCCA ground on day four on Monday. ZTBL made 264 runs in its first innings and reduced Lahore to 165 and then increased its lead by scoring 308 runs in its second innings. After declaring the second innings, ZTBL bowled Lahore out for 310 in its second innings to win the match by 97 runs. Sohail Tanveer scored a century (116 runs off 80 balls) for ZTBL to strengthen his teams position and later Saeed Ajmal took three wickets while Tanveer had two along with Rao Iftikhar and Junaid Nadir to win the match for the bankers.
