LAHORE Alleging torture and illegal detention of the hospital employees, All Pakistan Paramedical Staff Federation Mayo Hospital Unit has demanded action against Gawalmandi Police Station officers. Addressing a press conference here at Lahore Press Club on Wednesday, President APPSF Mayo Hospital unit Zafar Iqbal Gujjar alleged that the Police officers tortured and humiliated him when he went to the Gawalmandi Police Station in connection with an investigation against three hospital employees. APPSF also held a demonstration outside LPC to protest against the Police attitude. Zafar Iqbal Gujjar said that the Police booked Munir, Nisar and Ghulam Shabbir in theft of a motorcycle from hospital parking, relieving policemen deputed along with these employees to issue tokens. He alleged that DSP Asif Javaid Commando and Inspector Investigation Rana Ramzan asked the employees to give money equal to the worth of motorcycle as the applicant was a close relative of an SP. He alleged that the offer of giving oath to prove innocence of the accused infuriated Police officers who put him (Zafar Gujjar) and other employees in the lock up after torture. He demanded the Police high ups to immediately transfer the said DSP, Inspector and other policemen. He vowed to launch a strong protest and commit suicide outside the IG office if the said officers were not transferred.
