Deploy Army to check rigging in NA-123, demands PTI

LAHORE - PTI leaders have demanded that Rangers and Army should be deployed on the polling day in NA-123 for holding of transparent by-polls. PTI City chapter president Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed and Mian Hamid Miraj party candidate from NA-123 made this demand while addressing a media conference on Saturday. They alleged that posters and banners of PTI were being removed from NA-123 on the behest of the provincial government, while official resources were also being utilised freely in favour of PML-N candidate and such actions fall under the preview of pre-poll rigging. PTI leaders demanded of the Election Commission of Pakistan to restrict all the political parties who were taking part in the by-polls to follow the code of conduct in this regard. They also demanded of the CCPO Lahore to initiate a thorough probe into firing case on PTI candidates supporters. pen-down strike Employees of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Lahore, continued their pen-down strike on the consecutive 11th day on Saturday to press for the acceptance of their demands. President Employees Welfare Association of BISE Ch Muhammad Aslam Gujjar and General Secretary Ch Ikramul Haq said that they would continue their strike till the acceptance of their demands especially release of funds. They said if their demands were not met the SSC examination 2010 could abe jeopardised.
