Blackmailing cop caught


LAHORE: CIA City police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a sacked ex-Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) on charges of filming women after developing illicit relations and blackmailing them later.
Police recovered dozens of nude pictures and videos of girls and women, cell phones and memory cards from his possession, said spokesman of the police.
The accused identified as Saqib Miraj, who joined Punjab police in 2003 and was sacked on corruption charges. He used to film his prey and later blackmailed them and took money on the pretext of posting the pictures online. Police said one Munawar lodged a complaint with the CCPO Lahore Ch. Shafique Ahmed saying the accused Saqib telephoned her daughter and threatened her that he would post her nude pictures and videos online if she failed to give Rs. one lakh to him.
 On the complaint of the citizen CCPO directed SP CIA Muhammad Umer Virk to nab the accused. Police said that the accused Saqib used the footage and pictures to blackmail his prey and began asking them to come out with him often and give money.–Staff Reporter
