WCB disposes of 3,200 ton entrails of sacrificial animals

LAHORE  - The Walton Cantonment Board (WCB) disposed of 3,200 ton entrails and other waste of sacrificial animals during the three days of Eidul Azha. Talking to APP here Sunday, Chief Executive Walton Cantt Board Qazi Rizwan said 985 staffers including six sanitary inspectors equipped with 85 truck loaders were deputed at seven sectors of the Board who worked from 5:00 am to 8:00 pm during Eidul Azha days and disposed of sacrificial animals’ offal.
He said 70 maund lime powder was used along the streets, roads and main filth depots to ward off any disease like cholera, dengue or other contagious diseases.  “The residents and social organisations of the area have also extended cooperation with the Board administration and provided plastic bags to the people so that they could put entrails of sacrificial animals in them for its proper disposal,” he added.
“Deputy Chief Executive Fahim Ali along with sanitary workers during the Eid days visited door to door in narrow streets of Board where the collection of offal was difficult and gave quick response to dispose of sacrificial animals’ waste.” Rizwan said the Board had received 200 letters of appreciation by people from various walks of life for proper sanitation arrangements in the areas.
