Arrest warrants of jail superintendent issued

LAHORE - Kot Lakhpat Jail Superintendent has become habitual of not complying with the court orders, as the court on Monday issued the arrest warrants of the Superintendent for not appearing in the court after the repeated show cause notices. Earlier the court had sought reply from the superintendent that why he was not producing the accused of a murder case NO-416 registered in the Factory Area Police Station in the court and it was not complied by the jail superintendent. Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Ameer Khan issued arrest warrants for the Jail Superintendent, as he did not respond to the court after the repeated notices to the Superintendent were sent for producing the accused Amjad in the court for the purpose of court proceedings. But the other accused Jamila Bibi was attending the court proceedings. Jamila Bibi is the mother of Amjad Ali and both the mother and son Amjad Ali are required to the court for further proceedings in the case. Both the mother and son are facing the murder charges of killing the stepmother of the Amjad Ali in the limits of the Factory Areas Police Station. As three days ago the court also issued the show cause notice to the Superintendent for appearing in the court on Monday (September, 20) but he did not comply with the court orders. As on September, 04 the Superintendent had informed the court that the accused Amjad Ali was not present in Kot Lakhpat Jail on which the court sent an official to confirm the presence of the accused in the Jail. The officials after visiting the Jail informed the court that the responsible persons sitting in the Jail has confirmed that the accused Amjad Ali is present in the jail. The court record of show cause notices against the Jail Superintendent revealed the unofficial attitude of the superintendent, who did not bother even in the murder case (under section 302 PPC) to obey the court orders. The court also issued the orders on Monday about the stoppage of the Superintendents salary for not complying with the court orders. The court also ordered the Superintendent to appear in the court on September 23, 2010, as on Monday he also did not appear in the court against the notice that was issued to him some three days ago by the court.
