Cop killed in street fight

LAHORE  - An official of the Elite police force was shot dead while two other people wounded seriously during street fight in Hanjarwal, police sources said on Monday.
Zubair Butt along with his four accomplices forced his entry into the house of Ashfaq in Murghzar Colony and opened indiscriminate fire. As a result, Ashfaq, his son Sameer, and brother-in-law Shahbaz sustained bullet wounds and were rushed to hospital, where Shahbaz expired later.
Shahbaz, said to be a constable of the elite police force, was present at the house of his sister when the scuffle started. Investigators said that Zubair was residing in the lower portion of the house of Ashfaq on rent. A day earlier, they exchanged harsh words over some dispute and fought in the street. Police handed over the body of policeman to his family after the autopsy. A murder case was also registered against Zubair and his four accomplices. Further investigation was underway.

CRUSHED: A 28-year-old motorcyclist was crushed to death by a rashly-driven vehicle in Shera Kot on Monday. Police said that Muhammad Umair riding on a motorcycle was on his way home when a vehicle smashed into his two-wheeler. He was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to wounds. The driver along with the vehicle fled from the scene. Police are investigating.
