Medics treat 18,270 patients

LAHORE - Medical teams of the Punjab Health Department sent to Hunza has provided healthcare facilities to 18,270 patients that include 5,099 males, 7,993 females 4,811 children and others from May 27 to June 20. Punjab medical team in-charge Additional Director Health, Dr Mubashir Malik said that doctors treated patients by visiting relief camps set-up in different areas during 24 days and distributed more than five tonnes of free medicines. He said gynaecologists, who are part of the team, provided medical care to 267 pregnant women. A girl and a boy were born through Cesarean operation and normal delivery respectively. Dr Mubashir informed that a fresh medical team of Allied Hospital Faisalabad has reached Hunza whereas medical teams of Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi and Services Hospital, Lahore, have come back after completing their task. He said that another medical team of Mayo Hospital, Lahore would leave for Hunza in couple of days. The medical team of Allied Hospital Faisalabad has taken sufficient quantity of medicines with them.
