Thousands sit in Aitkaf

LAHORE - Thousands of people on Sunday sat in Aitkaf at various mosques in the City to spend last ten days of Ramadan in prayers to please the Almighty without leaving four walls of the worship place. In addition to Minhaj-ul-Quran Aitkaf City and Jamia Masjid-al-Qadsia, hundreds of women sat in Itiqaf at their respective houses. About 50,000 people including women went for Itiqaf at Minhaj-ul-Quran Aitkaf City in the company of Allama Tahir-ul-Qadri. Minhaj-ul-Quran has made separate arrangements for women. About 2,600 people including 600 women sat in Itiqaf at Jamia Masjid-al-Qadsia. A tent city named Khadijah-tul-Kubra has been especially set up for the women, while similar tent cities, named after various sahabah have been set up for the men. About 2,000 people sat in Aitkaf at Jamia Masjid Data Darbar where the Punjab Auqaf Department has made elaborate arrangements for the worshipers till the last day of Ramadan. The Auqaf department had also made arrangements at all the mosques under its control. A large number of people also sat in Aitkaf at Badshahi Mosque, Masjid Wazir Khan, Masjid Auqaf Model Town, Jamia Masjid Shah Jamal, Jamia Masjid Darbar Hazrat Mian Mir and other masajids in different parts of the City. In all these mosques, Mehfil-e-shabina will be organised from 27th to 29th of Ramadan. Amir Jamaat-ud-Dawah Hafiz Muhammad Saeed personally inspected and expressed satisfaction at the arrangements for the people offering Aitkaf and instructed the organisers to provide all possible amenities to those staying at Masjid-al-Qadsia for Aitkaf. Extraordinary security arrangements were made by the Jamia-al-Qadsia administration during this period. The administration also made sure complete privacy for women at the separate tent city. As usual, Hafiz Saeed will expound on the tafseer of the Quran after Taraweeh prayers throughout the second half of Ramadan.
