Security arrangements reviewed


LAHORE – The City’s Operations Police Chief Mr. GM Dogar reviewed security arrangements regarding central procession, which will emerge on Monday (today). Later, the DIG also inspected all the routes of the procession and discussed necessary issues of security with Shiite Ulema and the members of the District Peace Committee. The DIG flanked by SSP Sarfaraz Falki and SP Security Jawad Qamar visited the routes and ordered deployment of 3000 police officers on this occasion. The Police Chief also said that 30 close circuit cameras have been installed at separate points, 28 walkthrough gates have been placed and around 400 volunteers have been instructed to remain alert round the clock. According to the security plan, the administration has been directed to ensure one person sitting in each vehicle of the participants due to security reasons and the empty vehicle would be considered suspicious van.
